I stayed at "Gayatri 2" in September 350.000rp double room, which actually had 2xking size beds in it, great view over the rice fields on a gang off Monkey Forest Road, just near the soccer fields - very central, you can walk to the markets or the monkey forest easily from the hotel. I have their email address at work, I can give it to you on Monday if you are interested. They actually answer your emails, I have just booked again for January 09. They don't have TV's in the room. They do have a great pool and a nice breakfast. For Jan 09 they are charging 350.00rp dbl and 400.000rp triple share.
