started with my wife 8kilos over in her 2 bags,but jetstar was good & only charged us 4 kilos. got to immigration & passport taken to a room & had to wait for someone to come out & say my name is the same as a suspected terrorist & im ok to go. good flight & was picked up & taken to bloodyrons for first 2 nights. we the had bookings at the puri bunga village hotel at kedewatan (near ubud) & arrived with the always fun news that they have overbooked, but the good news was that harris hotels group had just taken over the property & they arranged a hotel down the road & paid the costs for 3 nights. the hotel was called ananda cottages, very nice place, we had a 2nd floor room overlooking the rice fields, no tv & a horizon pool all to ourselves, FANTASTIC. after 3 nights there we booked into the mentari hotel in sanur for 7 nights, it was a small hotel down a lane across from the entrance to the inna grand hotel. very nice place & good food at good prices. while we were there we went to dinner for our first wedding anniversary, i dont remember the name of the place, but it was across from the irish pub, they have a salsa night there, anyway they plumped up our bill to double what the menu stated what the prices were, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. after leaving sanur we went to the green garden hotel in kuta, every time we get the same room(44), best room in the hotel. as always everything was top shelf,food,service, but we had to get a doctor for our daughter when she had some dodgy fish from Jimbaran Bay. He saw us coming, the first question, do you have insurance? he then promptly charged us $250 for a needle & some antibiotics, at the time we didnt care, just wanted our 5yo to get well. We went to the memorial service at the consul-generals place on the 12th, very moving ceremony & very secure. after 9 nights in kuta we flew to jakarta to visit my wifes family, had a great 8 nights there & came back last saturday, i flew back with singapore air on the new a380, very big plane, but no more seat room, as a large fellow i know about seat room because i fill all of the seat. my wife also got food poisoning in jakarta because she thinks she can still eat from the carts by the side of the road, they will be home tomorrow. this jbr's not full of information because my memory is not great for remembering names, i will post names & places next week. also my 1st jbr.
