getting what they say you are buying. You hand over gold coins and rupiahs and should be recieving back a gold coin bracelet or toe ring or whatever.....BUT you are actually getting a bracelet or whatever made out of some other cheap metal. The gold coins go to the next person along the line, usually a porter at the airport who will then bundle the coins into packets and sell them to returning Aussies...25 coins=$50.00, the porter then sells the $50.00 note to a money changer hence getting more rupiah. Not a scam just a clever way to market bracelets and get paid much more than they are worth, but as you said if you are happy then who cares, my daughter has had hers for years.
