My eldest son, finished school last year and went to the Gold Coast for only 1 day of schoolies, he wasn't terribly impressed with it at all. I have another son who finishes school this year and has the opportunity to go to Bali with his mates, and I am steering him more towards Bali as the Gold Coast is trouble. I could not as a concerned parent feel safe about my kids up on the Gold Coast. I live near Byron Bay and I wouldn't want him anywhere near that either when the schoolies hit town. Bali is by far the better choice, they have so much more to do and see in Bali than just sit around the gold coast beach and streets and drink yourself stupid.
