Hi Mark...great idea check the DIAC website.

On a study visa...they can only work up to a max of 20 hours per week.

Note ...they must have health insurance set up before arrival to Australia.

Therefore 20 hours at base Hotel/restaurant rate of pay....assuming it is a consitutional corporation is at $13.74 per hour (at the introductory level for the 1st 3 months.) which equates $274.80 per week.

274.80 per week, less tax Gives 1 persopn very little to live on , considering...food, accomodation, transport, health insurance, course/education fees etc

Add the costs of Airfares....approx $700 plus return from INdonesia, Passport ( cant recall cost) , health and medical tests (about Aus200) Visa departure ex Indonesia 1.5 million rupees, Aust Departure tax etc...Who is going to pay this upfront?

Unfortunately, they cannot be eligible for a 457 visa...deemed unskilled and working holiday visas cannot be obtained from Indonesia.

If you need further refer to DIAC website, or start a petition against the FEderal Immigration Minister about allowing Balinese workers into Western Australia....as our service standards are crap which affects tourism...Balinese workers will LIFT these current poor standarsd.
