I attended an American school in Jakarta, we had schoolies in Bali, (we called it the spring break back then, since it was "american")
Back then we all stayed at the Bounty, and we did tours, went to the beach, shopping, and just relaxing. I dont drink, so I never visited any of the bars with the other students who were out just to get pissed.
We always felt safe, and looked after well by the hotel staff, and had a great time.
I'd recommend it over the Gold Coast any day.
