Quick bit of extra info as i found Tune Brochure:

Aircon MYR 4.99 5 hours, MYR9.99 12 hours - as this is loaded onto your room keytag its not running when you are not in your room :-).

WIFI 24hours MYR9.99 - this is a solid 24hr.
There is 4 computers in foyer with free internet access.

All Tune Hotel will have either a 7 eleven, subway, uncle johns cafe, Gloria Jeans, Nelsons in foyer - KL had 7 eleven and subway.

Now back to Surabaya.
VOA was paid here, we got caught out, not enough ruphia left over from last trip, they weren't keen on MYR so out come the aussie dollars, the rate we got was terrible 6800. There is a sign that states that if you pay in other currentcy the rate will not be as good.
Every other time we always take US Dollars - totally slipped my mind this time.

We booked our Bali ticket at the airport when we arrived as town is 35mins drive away. We could have got tickets for A$40 but they were early flights and we wanted to get 2 full days sightseeing, so went for a 5pm Garuda flight for $65.

Taxi to Ibis Hotel Surabaya was RP135 000, you have a choice of going to toll road or not, if you go toll road you are expected to pay which was 3 tolls totaling RP5000?

Surabaya was like Denpasar, we both commented that the footpaths are better in Bali. We weren't expecting a 'sydney' but being the 2nd largest city of Indonesia we were expecting 'something' a little shinier.

If you end up here you must track down the Sapoerna (sp?)cigarette factory and go back for the bbq dinner buffet of a night with live entertainment RP75000. The food is fantastic and the 3 piece band are very good even if they sing the wrong words in english.

No one could give us a Surabaya City Map which made it very hard!! Ended up finding a 'hotspot' in Maccas and managed to find a couple of sights worth checking out.

Normally i am the most organised person, PDA loaded with maps/sights and tips, but i really stuffed up preparing for Surabaya - perhaps if i had been more prepared we would have liked it more.
But we have crossed it off our list of things to do ha ha.

Bags must be strapped before checking in, this is a free service.
Flight to Bali was ontime, light refreshments included in ticket.
Arrived ontime, we were out the front in record time as we had arrived domestic - no one checked our passport/VOA nothing!!! It was a bit scary actually because we felt like we were doing something wrong. Off the plane/collect bag/walk straight out front of airport.

Got a taxi voucher RP40 000 to Kuta - too easy!!!
Arrived at Adi Dharma noticed the reception area has been completed.
2 computers with internet access 30mins for RP10 000.
In room safes.

Dumped bags and went straight to IndoNational to drop off coasters to Milton that we had been collecting for the last 12 months.

Bali Bits will be next!!!
