Hi AAA

I was at the Mandira last week, great hotel, gardens, food etc and top location right on legian beach. Yes there are phones in the room and the hotel's information folder explains how to make overseas calls, however I think they would be quite expensive. If you have an unlocked mobile phone, why not take that to Bali and purchase an Indonesian SIM card for the duration of your stay.

I purchased an XL Bebas SIM card for RP100,000 which came with RP10,000 credit and purchased a further RP50,000 credit. Although I couldn't work out how to send text messages I used it to phone my children, friends and mum back home in Australia - one 8 minute phone call cost me under RP5,000 - so cheap. I came back with over RP40,000 credit remaining, even though I made many calls during the week - I have now passed it on to one of my workmates who is off to Java next week.

I do think this is the better option, any questions ,please ask.

Cheers,

Carol.
