When I was in Bali a couple of weeks back, I just wanted something simple, comfortable and conveniently located to the Jl.Laxmana (Oberoi/"Eat Street") area of Seminyak.
I came across Sunset Terrace Apartments - a row of 10 x 1 Bedroom Upstairs/Downstairs Apartments - fully furnished (very comfortable too) with Satellite TV/DVD in upstairs bedroom which is Air Conditioned. Downstairs area is Fan Cooled with separate toilet for guests - also well-equipped with small oven, 2-burner gas stove and all utensils, plates glassware etc.
I booked through Bali Friendly www.balifriendly.com who offered the best rate (handled by a few) at US$40.00 Nett per night. Airport Transfers by Bali Friendly were Rp.75,000 each way Airport/Seminyak.
If you are looking for a place with large pool and massive garden area then this is NOT for you as the apartments are on a narrow block and there is just a small plunge pool located near reception.
Some apartments are owner-occupied. Wayan and staff could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. Although my voucher said "unserviced", we always came back to a fully-serviced situation. There is also an excellent and inexpensive laundry a short walk away with same-day service.
Transport is so easy to obtain as there are many up-market villas in close proximity and a Taxi holding area just metres from Sunset Terrace entrance.
Ketut and Teguh at Bali Friendly are very efficient and will get back to you promptly - if not at the property you require, with an alternative in similar area/price range. I have used this company twice in the past six months.
