We stayed in a villa for 2 weeks in April. We are a family with 4 children 14,13,11 7. The villa we stayed in was 3 bedrooms and had plenty of room, plus great facilities. It was serviced every three days which was fine. We bought some supplies from supermarkets, so were able to have b'fast at home, which suited the kids, who were all getting up at different times.
The pool was great, very quiet. It is used for people doing Scuba diving courses at times, but often there was no one else there.
We used a laundry and internet cafe just outside the front gate- to the left-cheaper than in the main tourist areas.
We would walk to the main road, coming out near the febris / dynasty. Opposite where you come out onto the main road is a fixed price shop sellinggroceries amongst other things, plus next to this is a kodak money changer.
There were some great little shops/stalls here (say hello to Reka and Ketut at Rekas shop)along with spas offering the usual massage, hair braid, nails etc. At night we would catch a taxi home - we wernt so keen on walking the narrow road in the dark. From Poppies 1 to home we would pay around 10000 rp.
I walked through the dynasty to get to the beach.
At our villa we had a baliinese couple who could provide transport , hair braiding etc at a very reasonable prices.. Sammy and Jenny. Jenny braided my daughters hair in the comfort of the Villa as she was watching TV.
Included in the price of the villa was airport transfers, plus one free day transport (we went to the safari park), plus bottled water.
There were also some push bikes we could use, which I did use to ride down some of the quiet streets- really enjoyed this.
Hope this all helps. J
