Well,
Got here on Jne 19. Garuda ex Perth. Good flight, ran over a few passengers to get to VOA early as we were in Row 11.
Travelling with my neighbour Bonehead
Spent a bit of time at Sanur Senia Hotel and was a bit quiet, but good, lots of sports on TV.
First day is always a bit of a blur. Went to S&S&S. a few guys there, one kept spilling his beer, so we left soon after that for a massage, it was good and was 50K.
Went for a drink after and by dinner time we decided we had too much to drink and should go to Legian for a few more and carch up with old aquaintances.
Went to Ricky's, burnt my fingers on the BBQ. I thought it was a table????
Stayed for a while and walked to Posers, the long way - one side of the street to the other.
Was speaking to a couple of ladies that were staying at Sanur Beach Cottages or Villas (forget at the moment) anyway apparently it was cheapish and clean, they liked the smell of the soap and the toilet paper was soft. Everyone has there own priorities i suppose??!! Hi Stepnanie (my curls go frizzy in the humidity) and Raelene (does my bum look big in these shorts) if you are reading this. May catch up next year as discussed.
The owner was there a bit but blended into the background, they were unsure but thought their was a new Manager - Neil. He seemed to have a bit of an input.
Anyway after 4 days in Sanur we had sorted out Motor Bikes ( thanks for all the info guys) eventually got from Mohamed aka Ice Cold P*ss in Jln Legian opposite side to Bali Aussie and 50m closer to JLn Legian.
Went to BA, smelled like a toilet but food was fine as we changed seats to RHS.
Bikes are Honda Tiger 200cc manual - excelelnt.
Rode to Ubud and stayed 2 nights at RAKA Bungalows off Dewi Sita (Batan Waru Street) 100k a night - clean hot water w/- fan. great value and lovely staff.
Rode to Kintamani and surrounds beautiful country side and very helpful people when we got lost and that was a few times.
Ate at Nomads, excellent as always on Raya Ubud, Kafe down Hanoman and also at a great warung/library Pondokon the far side of the soccer field, big red and white sign, food was great local fare and about 12 to 15k per plate, delicious.
Live music one night at 'Waroeng' in MF road, escaped with 688K bill, lucky the muso's (accoustic) stop as it would be more. Cocktails are so cheap, we felt like we were saving money.
On that we are helping the Gas Crisis in WA as we are in Bali and therefore 2 less consumers on that resource. Environmetal Peace Prize nomimation pending. Watch this space.
Nice ride from Ubud to Candi Dasa today, got lost about 3 times but you see so much more.
Just booked into Temple Cafe accomm backs onto the ocean. 200K a night cold beer with good clean rooms, hot & cold, pedestal fan.
Anyway will be heading off to Amed, Talumben, Singaraja, Lovina and working or way around the island, stopping for a few days here and there and exploring inland from those points.
Helping Colin (ne) Alan Carpenter and his Gas crisis.
Might not look at the BTF for a few days so any replies won't be looked at for a while. If you need info ASAP forget it, i am on holidays.
Cheers,
Ray
