We've been trying for a few months to get accommodation (not for August but for October).
Have tried booking each hotel via various agents and online agents. We've tried Dynasty, Bali Garden, Puri Raja, Kumula Patai, kartika plaza - all fully booked. I even rang a couple of places to check and sure enough they were fully booked.
We've finally got a booking at the Patra. I can honestly say i've never had a problem in the past - so I would recommend that you try to book in advance.
