- Pacung and Bedugul. It's a sort of a locals market more than a tourist one, the front yard invariably filled with local vegetables tended by grandmothers and extended families with a few very shy kids running around, obviously not too familiar with the funny white faces of visitors. The permanent stalls are towards the back and have clothing, shoes etc, again more for the locals but tourists very welcome. There is also a working jeweller, silversmith come goldsmith or two, a local hardware stall (incredible stuff if you're a little curious) and shops to buy temple offerings, seeds and fruit including black and red rice, the latter being especially welcomed by drivers and beach friends in small packages for special offerings, tea and rice wine.
Another one I've enjoyed has been the market at Amlapura out east beyond Candi Dasa but I've only been there twice. The muslim ladies selling temple bra's were a hoot after a Chupa Chup and the flower stalls were great.
