and we have been going to Bali since he was three(2003)That first flight was a bit of a nightmare because for the whole 6 hours all I got was "where is nana" and it didn't matter what I said he just kept repeating it. We always fly business class as this gives us a bit more room and he has his own personal video screen. He absolutely loves Bali but as he only eats certain food I have to pack it all and take with me.
For the flight I always pack his favorite things and we prepare by talking about it for the weeks leading upto leaving. He is much better on the flight now as he has been 4 times and this year we are going for 8 weeks.
He loves the water so I took him to Waterbom Park thinking he would love it. Big mistake too many people and he screamed the whole time. We lasted about an hour. Took him back again the next year and the same thing happened. So we just avoid crowded places.
We stay in sanur and he bike rides around the beachfront, and spends most of his time swimming in the pool. He loves Bali and we have Balinese friends that have children that he plays with and I find he is much more relaxed and happy when we are in Bali, maybe because he is free to do as he pleases within reason.
Sorry I can't help with accom.ideas,my son sleeps with me. But I am sure someone can point you in the right direction.
Just try and prepare your son as much as possible before hand esp.if he hasn't been on a plane before. I found that take-off and landing were the hardest because of the noise. Carter doesn't like loud noises so I try and keep him occupied with something or other.
Hope you have a good trip.
