Ok I am a 14 that has been to Bali. If anyone has any questions about Bali and would like a teenagers point of view on things please ask.
Just to make this clear this is NOT a JBR. I went to Bali last year and this is just a few of my memories.
Please give me comments and ask lots of questions!
Thanks and enjoy :-)
Our first night in Bali was spent in Sanur at the lovely Paneeda View Hotel. On arrival the friendly staff there greeted us with leis and fruit drinks and took us to our spacious room. The hotel grounds were quite beautiful and although the beach was rubbish strewn and far from idyllic the hotel made up for it with 3 pools and a large breakfast included, so our stay there was enjoyed. I would recommend anyone looking to Jet Ski to do it in Sanur. It was relatively cheap and the surf there is far less intense than the likes of Kuta or anywhere in the near vicinity. Our next stop was Jimbaran via a few surf factory outlets where we picked up boardies some shirts and a hat all at great prices. In Jimbaran we stayed at the beautiful Sari Segara Resort, a highlight to our entire trip! With 2 amazing swimming pools, a pool table and a massive buffet breakfast included there was nothing not to like, and along with a great price, our stay there was excellent. The beach itself in Jimbaran, though nicer than that of Sanur, still was not perfect with a plethora of seafood restaurants lining the white sand beach.
After a blissful few days in Jimbaran we moved on to Ubud where we stayed at the palatial Tjampuhan, a former prince's residence. The hotel was beautifully situated on the river with gardens growing all around. And with two pools and yet another large buffet breakfast, what more could we ask for. In Ubud we visited the monkey forest and were all pleasantly surprised by the amount of monkeys everywhere. Sit down and they would crawl on to you. A definite must for anyone visiting Ubud. After a wonderful time in Ubud we travelled to Padang Bai a very mellow spot for just chilling out. Along with some great snorkelling, it was a good spot to just unwind. If you do find yourselves in Padang Bai be sure to check out Ozone, a restaurant with attitude, great service, great food, great place! After Padang Bai we made our way back to Jimbaran for the final 2 days of our trip. On the way we stopped in Kuta, there we purchased plenty of pirated DVDs. A word of wisdom, try to keep away from the very new releases as they are all filmed in the cinemas and are usually terrible quality. Most of the older ones we bought were in perfect condition and for $1.50 (10,000 rupiahs) you cannot go wrong. Also in Kuta we stopped at the cinema to watch the newest Harry Potter movie. The cinema was large and comfortable with a big screen and a good sound system and the subtitles were easily ignored. After that we found ourselves back at the Sari Segara soaking up the sun and enjoying the last days of our wonderful trip!
