So long as you have International roaming connected to your Optusnet phone contract, your phone will hook into a local phone network and work well eg $6 per minute.
Be aware. Phoning home will be expensive.
Better option is to buy an Indo sim card and put into your unlocked phone. Phone rates from Bali to Australia are much much cheaper eg 2200rp per minute.
Just sms your friends and family back home with the Indo phone number.
