I understand about the kids and the Dynasty with the water slide, but since our last at The Patra I think they have realised that many people who go to bali are now taking younger and younger kids.

The rooms at the Patra are huge and very classy in decore. The kids sleep on either a fold out sofa bed in lounge/dining area (we requested 2 rollaways as our kids fight in same bed). They have their own huge tv and plenty of space. The main bedroom which has a king size bed with the bathroom off this room. I hate staying in the same room as my girls- I dont want to have to stop watching tv because they need sleep! The setup is perfect - put kids to bed, switch on our tv in the bedroom and sit and drink a few cocktails till late in the night on the balcony.

The pools at The Patra are the best I have ever seen in any hotel - clean and not too deep. The provide pool toys for the kids (blow up donuts, balls, noodles and floating lounges). They have also now have a pool activities guy - every afternoon if there are kids around - usually 6-8 he will arrange games in the pool (water polo, volleyball, chasey etc).

This is the first time we used the kids club at the Patra. Wow, was I impressed. Our younger daughter who is 6 kept saying before the trip she's not going in - well this changed when she saw it and what they do.

the kids club is huge - it would honestly take probably 100 kids. It has a huge outdoor area with enclosed trampoline, small pool (about 30cm deep), sand pit and outdoor toys. Inside is playstations, arts and crafts, board games and much more. We came back from first time leaving them there and oldest came out with me, but youngest wanted to stay and do more crafts - so the one who *refused* to go in, was left in for another 4 hours while we were at the resort and still didnt want to come out. We dont use kids clubs regularly as we prefer the kids to be with us - but it was nice to go out heavy duty shopping and walking without the whinging going on.

Any other questions Im happy to answer.
