We are extremely lucky to have Bali...3 and a half hours away... I only just realised what you meant by malarial. From what I know, not much malaria around. Make sure you wear DEET mozzie repellant all day (35 - 40% DEET) and no perfume. There was a few reported cases of Dengi carrying mozzies in Sanur last year though which bite during the day as compared to dusk. We spray our room every morning before heading out with cheap fly/mozzie spray from Hardy's. Tell house cleaning not to leave door open when they make up room, as our little boy got eaten alive during the night because they were leaving door open. Another good spot for snorkelling is Telumban (not sure of spelling) north of Sanur. Money changing in Sanur: best spot we use is opposite Hardy's just to the left; honest and give computerised receipt.
