take a bottle of spirits if you are over 18, buy it duty free as you leave. Circle K's, supermarkets and small shops are everywhere for soft drinks. You can buy Bintang everywhere, even at Circle K, but the supermarkets can be cheaper. Prices vary depending on the restaurant but the average cocktail is about 40,000 Rp. ($4.50). The flashier the restaurant, the more expensive the grog.
My father always asks the price of a small Bintang before we take a seat anywhere,(this is VERY important to him ) and if its excessive, its a no go . (Hi Prescott !!)
Resort prices vary, but most have happy hour in the afternoons when prices go down, but there are so many bars, nightclubs and beach stalls that if the resort is to expensive for you, just go somewhere else. If you are worried about racking up a massive bill, pay as you go. If you read a few JBR's you will pick up heaps of tips before you travel as there is a huge pool of knowledge on the forum. When are you going ??
