They are freshwater pearls. You can see info about them if you google for Wallace Pearls. They're from Lombok. There is, as far as I am aware, only the one shop in Jl Pantai that sells them. From what I overheard from the owner most of his trade is overseas at big mark ups.

The ones I bought were a pearl necklace of medium sized pearls with matching earrings for my Mum & a string of what my son calls tic tacs for his best female friend. No seed pearls - just round & oval shaped with some interesting designs. As I said to the girls there I wished I had discovered it before my 2nd last day so I'd have had more money to spend. The earrings were about Rp70K & the necklace was Rp210K, cheaper for the tic tac necklace. So cheap.

Going to send hubby very strong hints to bring me back some of their more upmarket things. The great thing about the shop is the range of prices - something for everyone. Hope this helps.
