my daughter did it last year at the age of 18. I had found a lovely lady off this forum and we had chatted both by phone and emails. They had already gone through, my daughter was left behind... She was fine.... until she got off the plane and followed the crowd and stood in line for the VOA and started crying some passengers in line asked her if she was ok and she said "I want my mummy!" Their reply was "Oh dear where is she?" she pointed out to the front of the airport. She was fine it was just a panic attack. We went to the transport room on the outside and could see her after her bags went through XRay, she couldn't see us. Customs did give her a hard time pulling stuff out of her bag. They questioned her in Sydney as to why she had no check in bags etc, they tried to make her put her 6 kilo hand luggage in cargo, she replied my mum will get mad, lucky it was not over weight or they would of won. I made her only have carry on, I thought this would be better she would have no bags to look for or wait for, also she would of brought over 30 kilos and then complain when she couldn't buy anything for home. She was very relieved to see us.... She flew Jetstar. We didn't take her with us as we was going via Singapore. After my daughters experience she just told me to tell you to take your 13 year old with you.
Someone suggested VIP VOA I wished i knew about this back then.
