Arrived home just over a week ago.
This was my 16th trip to Bali, first time staying at the Kumala Pantai. Absolutely loved it. We stayed in the "A" block, top floor. The last eight times I've been to Bali I have stayed at the Jayakarta - decided to stay somewhere different - so glad I'd read about the Kumala Pantai - will definitely stay there again.
We flew over with Jetstar. We left Sydney on time and arrived about 20 minutes late. We were off the plane and out the door within about 30 minutes - no problems whatsoever.
Restaurants we ate at were: Kori's - great food, lovely surroundings; Ultimo - great food, great atmosphere; Seaside - our favourite - we ate here 3 times; Blue Ocean - we used to have lunch here quite often - great soto ayam (my favourite soup); Dewi Sri - excellent seafood; Indonational - I thought this restaurant was overrated - wouldn't bother going back; Mini's - was a favourite haunt from years ago,I can remember when it used to be packed, this time we were the only ones in there; Yutz - felt like a steak one night - really tender; went to Tommy's a few times for lunch also.
I bought quite a few dvd's (as you do). I also bought some really nice jewellery from a little shop just up the road from the Jayakarta and a fabulous bag from Tommy's Leather in Jalan Padma.
Just before heading back home I took all my laundry over the road from the Kumala Pantai to the laundry (can't remember the name of it) - had everything washed for about $5 - who could ask for more.
Unfortunately our flight leaving Bali was RESCHEDULED and we hadn't been notifed as Jetstar only had my work email address. Instead of flying out at 11.10pm we finally left Bali at 3.15am. We ended up paying 100,000 rupiah to use the Dewi Lounge - it certainly was a long night.
Can't wait for my next trip.
