I have the bedroom Air con set to 18 degrees, the lowest it will go, but it sure dont feel like it. We even had it serviced last week and still feels the same.
Jakarta is just too hot to sleep at night without the Air con on at all, when the power goes off, its like...well HELL really!!
We only use the AC at night, during the day the ceiling fans in the house are enough to keep cool, with the screen doors locked, and a nice breeze usually comes thru the house.
When we are at my parents apartment in Singapore the AC is usually set to about 21 degrees.
