$40 - $50. Knew it but didn't know what to do about it. Told the man I thought it was wrong and he was ripping me off but he just looked at me all innocent. Said I'd ring up and report it tomorrow but of course I wasn't going to! I think if I'd had US $ it wouldn't have been an issue as I would have just given the right amount. I think he saw the opportunity and took it. I'm a bit wary of the Immigration officials and didn't want to be hauled off to a room somewhere (had this happen back on my 1st trip when I misplaced/lost my white departure card) Got hauled into a back room at the aiport and interrogated, they weren't going to let me leave the country at one stage - very scary on your first trip!
For the sake of $50 I just decided to drop it and get on my way. He probably needed the money more than me!
