It al depends on what you like! Lembongan has virtually no cars or nightllfe. Very quiet. If you are into surfing [and not phazed by gutsy waves and shallow reefs!] Lembongan is pure heaven! Even if you are not into the waves, the snorkelling and serenity is pretty nice too. WE will be there in a few weeks time for 5 nights staying at Villa Mutiara. First time to this place, but it looks really nice. Hai Tide Huts are fantastic for a few nights - Do yourself a favour and get the ocean front huts - Something special. We have stayed at Lembongan resort - very nice, but expensive. Hai Tide Huts (3 times)! say no more!, Coconuts (4 times) also very nice so long as you are pretty fit. The steps are a full workout!!!
As you can probably tell we quite like Nusa Lembongan - It seems to drain all of your energy and leave you in a state of comotose - or is it Nirvana???? Great place to chill out and relax. There are virtually no shops, no transport, not much electricity - just palm trees, clear clean water, and white sandy beaches - and fully sick surf!
Getting their is easy - You can swim or catch a boat. I wouldnt recommend swimming so that leaves a boat trip. You can
1. Catch the Bali Hai or Quiksilver big boat from Benoa Harbour - nice comfortable large Cat type monsterosity
2. You can also book a sailing boat, a fast cat also from Benoa Harbour.
3.There is a new service called Scoot tours hich is a fast way to get there
4. You can catch a public boat from Sanur early each morning or a tourist boat from same place a bit later morning - Very cheap and a bit of an adventure!
5 We even saw a couple with very young children arrive on a small fishing prahu. Very brave I reckon! {and very stupid with young kids]
