Its starting to get bloody cold here at home, so the other day I shook a coupla moths out off my wallet and checked on the trusty plastic card buried deep in one of the folds. A call to the bank manager and after lots of promises and grovelling (on my part), he conceded that we may have lowered our debt enough to embark on the yearly sojourn to Bali. That was enough for me to phone Andrew at bali.co and get him to check out a trip.

I didn't ask much.Ttwo weeks of 4 to 5 star accommodation on the beach, servants, driver etc for the cost of their advertised Legian Village specials. I heard laughter and the sound of someone falling off their chair. A few minutes later after what sounded like Andrew composing himself, he told me that most places are booked and he could try and get us in the Baleka Beach Resort.

I immediately got on the bali travel forum and google to discover that 1 out of three aint bad, like it is called the Baleka, but it isn't a resort, oh and its not on the beach. Not to worry, rang my brother and he started packing his undies, jandels and spare shirt in a woollies shopping bag as we spoke. I explained that we have 10 weeks to go, but got the old 'better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all', which like my brother didn't make much sense.

Next I was on the phone to Gusti our trusty driver in Legian. It was so good to hear his voice again, and after mentioning who I was, he was so overcome with emotion that he must have dropped his phone and then accidently stood on it. Never mind, I know he loves the way we interact and I am sure he is over the chooky flu by now.

Word sure gets around fast, as after I was cut off by Gusti, I immediately received a call from the Bintang factory and confirmed the dates we were visiting, I heard the manager call to the production boys and there was ecstatic shouts and the sound of machinery winding up.
Now all that there is to do is to kill the pets discretely over the next coupla months to save on pet lodge costs (I can replace them cheaper when I get home), tell Emms that I have to work late for two weeks soon and dream of Bintang. If she doesn't believe me I will take her, as it saves having to kiss her goodbye. Ha ha.
