I agree with the other two posts however on our most recent trip in April this year we noticed a significant increase in the amount of mosquitos compared to our previous 7 trips, some of which were during the rainy season and others also in April.
What most concerned me though was that one of the girls on the beach who does my manicures was in hospital on a drip for a few days with malaria ~ she said it started with a severe fever and eventually she got so sick she had to be hospitalised. She lives in Denpasar and works just outside Legian Beach Hotel and although she does go back to her village near Ubud often, says she had not been there recently.
That's made me rethink the whole malaria issue as I always thought it wasn't necessary to take tablets.
I don't want to start scare-mongering but having heard first hand of a recent case, it may be another vax to add to your list.
We took our then 18 month old and had her vaccinated for Hep A/B which was a combined one a few weeks before we left (so it could take effect). We also got a script for typhoid but I felt that was a bit extreme given we were just staying in Kuta/Legian for the entire 12 days.
