A couple of weeks ago I asked the forum could I bring spices back to Australia and appreciated the advice.

I succesfully bought back the following all in plastic bags:
Curry, chilli, galangal, tumeric, corriander(all ground)as well as cinnoman sticks, vanilla beans and black pepper corns

I bought them in Ubud markets, so they weren't professionally packed, they just has a sticker on them with the name of the spice handwritten.

I bought 15 vanilla beans for Rp. 30,000 (total), and saw that in Coles in Sydney they were being sold for $5.81 per bean.

Customs had no problems with any of the above.

Regards,

Dave
