They make geckos in Lombok - in stained timber. They'll be available at Sukawati for sure - Ubud markets too. They look good! We've had 'em on our walls for 10 years now, and enjoy them every day.
They're timber - so must be declared and subjected to AQIS inspection - no problems; they're totally safe and pass inspection no problem - they're also light.
We package all our stuff that needs inspection into one bag (hand - carry on baggage if it's not much. On those trips where there is a fair bit - checked in. That way you only need to open up one bag on arrival back in Australia).
