We had seven days here previously we had 6 nights in a private villa in Seminyak (Villa Dewarta 3) organized through Bali Villa's and three nights at the Kajane in Ubud. We had A Delux Room Booked at the Sofitel but upgraded to a private pool Villa 104 and my brother inlaw and sister inlaw upgraded from a superior room to a Deluxe room (good move) their room was 323 and was very nice just a couple of rooms down from where Stanmar stayed. I would recommend an upgrade if its in the budget from superior to deluxe room better bedrooms and slightly larger room. Sofitel in a great location short walk up beach to eat street (loads of fantastic reatsurants) Try Rumors and La Trattoria great meals, the locals call Jl Dyana Pura (street hotels on) Drink street because after 9 am the pubs and clubs come alive lots of entertainment was not tempted by the Q bar though (dont ask)Both pools are fantastic with the garden pool a little quieter and all just a short walk from all rooms. The best kept secret is the new hotel built in front of part of the Sofitel called the Anantara forget going to Ku da ta to watch the sunset trust me and about 5.30pm walk up the stairs to their lobby ask for the lift go up to the roof where there is a fantastic bar with the best view of every where from The Four seasons in Jmbarean Bay to the very North of Seminyak beach very comfortable seats and a fantastic view of the sunset and did I mention the fantastic cocktails. The staff at the Sofitel are fantastic, the breakfast was great dont be put off by the Monitor lizard about 4 feet long is a hotel pet and the children feed it eggs at breakfast had to laugh at a couple off the european tourist and their reaction to this lizard but its quite frendly and only ate a couple of sleeping tourist lol (only joking)
