We were also unfortunate enough to arrive at the Mandira in April only to be told that there was a problem with our room and that they were overbooked. Since it was 9.30pm we were not happy as we had no choice but to go where they sent as. So off they take us to the Melasti, whicj I know a lot of people like, but we had paid a lot of money to stay at the Mandira and the room we were given at the Melasti was dusty, fridge hadn't been turned on, no drinks in the fridge...not a great start to our family holiday.
The next morning I go for a walk to the Mandira only to be told that they would not have a room for us until the middle of our 2 week holiday. They tried to tell us that it was because of the renos, but when we booked the reno advice was already on the internet, it turns out they had taken a booking for a wedding and the rest of us got bumped. Bit sad that after 8 stays at the Mandira(plus all the friends and family that have come with us over the years) they have no loyalty to return guests, well this is one family they will NEVER see again. And to top it off, they were renovating the staff rooms under our room for the last week. Best bit though was when we went to check out, our room service bill had a Rp1 200 000. charge that they couldn't explain......Do I sound bitter, you bet...
