At Life in Amed in Lean, which is about 2/3 of way down the coastal strip. In general properties on the high side of the road have better views than those on the beach. Was very happy with accommodation, food & staff at Life at US$45 a night for a 2-storey cottage - adjacent to smallish pool with some ocean views from the upstairs day room. The more expensive villas (>$100 from memory) are right on the beach with better views. There is fair snorkelling off the beach and better a short boat ride away. Had a look at Blue Moon - nice property with better views but further from the beach and the staff (at least that day) were a little slack. There was no real stink problem at Lean (as suggested by some of the comments on Mic's site, which is worth checking out)
