just acouple of funny things that happened while in bali, we were in bali for my nephews wedding which was held at the keraton resort every-thing was lovely but when it came to cutting the cake to their horror they found that the 2 tiers were not what they ordered the bottom one was poly foam ( we can laugh about it now) it really did look lovely, well my daughter was not happy as she had put them onto the cake shop in padma utara, the cake cost $120 aus so it wasn't cheap, my daughter wedding cake cost $20aus last year from the same shop, when buying a wedding cake don't mention its for a wedding & it won't cost as much. a couple of days after the wedding my sister & l are walking past the cake shop & as we look inside heres my daughter trying to get some of the money back from the poly foam cake, l walk in & pretend l want a wedding cake ordered my daughter tells me to go else where as they make false cakes pretends to give me a card from another cake shop & off l go, guess what she got half the money back for them, our daughter is living in bali for a year, back to the wedding the reception was on the beach well hubby & l being on the larger size our chairs kept sinking into the sand. another funny thing we were at la casa a restaurant opposite yutz a guy come along selling dvds l think my brother inlaw thought he would try out his indo skills & said to the seller tiduk instead of tidak well the guy thought he said have you got a duck & the next thing he pulls out a toy duck well we all sp[lit our sides laughing only in bali. the boys went had a game of golf at the sanur golf club the cost was $60 each you get 2 girl golf caddies, clubs and every-thing supplied. 2 great drivers we had were putu & eddy from out on the street in front of mbr, eddy took us shopping & putu took us to ubud & kintamani, really nice guys & very honest l left my sun glasses in eddy's van got them back the next day. places we ate at corner bar, seaside, dirty duck, melasti, warung kartini, la monde, gateway of india, warung yoga, ketumber, tommys, la casa, bali bakery & ultimo loved them all. had my raseberry & inner health each day bought raseberry syprup by mistake drank it any-way, you can buy r/berry cordial at carrafor the brand is indo cost about $1aus. exchange our money at mbr their rate was 8400 so we were happy with that, if we were dowm the street we would go to the money changer next to celebs h/dresser never had any problems there. dont forget to get your cheat sheets printed out from oanda.com. dvd shops were closed for awhile when we were there l suppose some money changed hands & they were open again. love those dvds. went to dreamland beach had a look at all the new villas going up well worth a trip out there to have alook. well enough of my rambling come on next april, we certainly met some lovely people this trip cheers lorraine & gus
