I am a terrified flyer and my Dr prescribes me Serepax just for flying (Serepax is an antianxiety agent) I started off with half a 15mg which didn't touch the sides. It was then increased to 15mg but I was still a basket case. I now take a massive dose of 30mg every five hours and that holds me in a fearless state and aware of my surroundings... it doesn't put me to sleep. I take the first pill as we are backing out the driveway, just as we start singing "We're all going on a summer holiday" it's tradition :-) However, this means I cannot partake in drinks off the trolley :-( as it doubles the effects.
I have double checked with the Dr and pharmacist that it has no adverse effects with my other medication.
I know there is a 20 day rule on prescriptions (this is to prevent stock piling) but if you're going away there is a special form that the DR can give you so you can get all your medication before you go.
Hope this helps.
