Alastair if your priority is a nice beach do not go to Lovina. It was the worst beach we visited in Bali. Black sand, very dirty and they burn rubbish all along the beach early morning. I do not remember seeing anyone sitting on the beach. The sellers that hang around the beach path are also a pain.
