I have stayed four times at The Kartika and I wouldn't say it was five star. I was very dissapointed with the latest refurbishments of the ground floor rooms. They should have totally gutted them instead of just repainting and restaining. Not sure what they did with the bathrooms as couldn't get to see them but could hear tiles being broken. But I do like this hotel as it has a great pool area and is so close to everything that suits me. It has a great breakfast and the staff are lovely. The kids seem to like the Kids Club. Maybe you should look at the Oberi up Seminyak way or even the Conrad at Benoa if you really want total luxury.
