We saw the beginnings of construction of the rock islands in the middle of the bay last year and it seems that an effort has been made to build a rock wall to enclose a large part of the bay and form a harbour.
Judging by the extent of the collapse of the front bale at the Pantai, the short lateral rock wall that served as a breakwater and protected the restaurant has been removed and the waves are now able to wash right under the front wall.
There seems to have been no lessons learned from the erosion that followed the removal of the concrete groyne that used to jut out from the edge of the Balihai property 2 or 3 years ago.
It's possible that the rock facing that was to form a protective seawall along the length of the beach might also have been washed away. I don't see any sign of it.
