I have enjoyed all your JBRs. Found No 3 and had to go back & read the rest. Enjoyed reading about your walk from Ubud to Campuan & back. I do that all the time - also take the detour. That dog-leg where the nice houses are - my friend calls it 'Vaucluse' (flash Sydney suburb).
I stay at Ubud Village Hotel, right opposite Komaneka and same owners. Not as fancy but very friendly, so you were setting out pretty much from where I would be. I ONLY go to Ubud, and go other places from there & in 12 visits have only been to Kuta once. It is so nice to see someone else enjoying what I enjoy.
