and many we spoke to just keep them mounted and they do look great. You can certainly save for the frames in the meanwhile if you still want but they at least can hang whilst waiting.
They wrap in corrigated cardboard roll and tie string around (where we purchase) and as they weigh nothing, we check them in with luggage.
