Last time I flew Singapore airlines (ex Adelaide) I had no luck with internet check-in. The only seats available (48 hours prior) were single aisle seats or a couple right at the back. On check-in, they advised that (ex Adelaide anyway) there was no advantage to internet check-in as seats have already been allocated by the agent - the best bet to get a particular seat is to put your request in through your travel agent, eg please seat us as far forward as possible.
