I grew up riding/racing dirtbikes so I think I'll be fine on a scooter! Yes I'm aware of the craziness on the roads over there. My mates been to bali 3 times, doesn't have a license and often rode his scooter back to the hotel fairly inebriated with many others an no one had any dramas.
I think people are over exaggerating the danger just a bit.
