renos happening when we were in Sanur last month, if you go after end of March should be ok. I found this on the horizons renovation site. It always was a nice hotel but got a bit tired, great location..

Revised Renovation Advice
The management of the Segara Village Hotel have sent a revised advice
in regards to the renovations currently being undertaken. Works were
due to be completed by 14 November 2007 but have been extended and are
due to be completed by 31 March 2008.
The Final phase commenced on the 19 October 2007. Demolition of the
existing beachside restaurant and construction of the stylish new
Restaurant/bar. Works have also begun on an adjacent oceanfront infinity
style swimming pool which is scheduled to be completed by 20 December 2007.
Facilities and services will operate as usual. Breakfast buffet is provided
each morning under the large Banyan Tree as well as lunch and dinner. The main
swimming pool next to the reception and the pool in the Deluxe Bungalows are
available to all guests as well as the private beach.
All guests will be accommodated in the newly renovated village 1 & 2
which is located away from the current renovation. The renovation of
the public places and buildings will be isolated around the beach
area which will affect the access to the beach. The hotel will provide
alternate access to the beach.
The Hotel will endeavour to minimise disturbance to its guests. Hours
of work will be from 8.00am till 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
