I spent last Nyepi at the Griya Santrian. Nothing special arranged, in fact, only one restaurant open. Everyon ejust relaxed. We were lucky as dinner, a most enjoyable buffet, was served in the gallery. It was served at normal time as the lights in the gallery were not visible from outside. Other hotels, buffet dinner served before it got dark, so guests ate early. I stocked up with nibbles the day before. Most Balinese go home to their villages a day or two before Nyepi, as the days preceding it are also special days. The day after Nyepi there is a market on the beach at Kuta. As previously mentioned some shops close before Nyepi and open a day or so after. I will be in Kuta this year and will be watching the parade from the hotels restaurant. Enjoy, Stormy
