and you need to get a licence for anything over 50cc. I got my licence March 07 so that I could ride legally in Bali and be covered by insurance. Those rules will change in July08 and you will probably need a licence to ride any bike because of all the accidents. I do not advise anybody to ride in Bali if you do not know how to ride and especially if you do not have a licence.

When I got my interntional licence at RACQ they forgot to include my licence for a bike because they thought that I would not have a bike licence so had to point it out.

You are not covered by insurance unless you are licenced in your country of residence. The laws regarding scooters under 50cc are only valid in queensland as far as I know I do not think they apply for instance in NSW.
