My friend is also a massage therapist and she collected her own stones. Apparently the stones get their energy from the water washing over them (which also makes them nice and smooth) and she collected them from a river bed in New South Wales. When she did her course in this particular massage her instructor advised her how to choose her stones!.... don't know if this helps
