Hi We had 15 days in max & suzannes aptmts in jan school hols and they are wonderful. They are beautifully decorated and furnished and we could not find fault with them at all. We had 3 apartments on 5 th floor and all were a little different but all nice. The fridge is a good size, there is a microwave, toaster and all crockery, cups/plates etc. We just went to bingtang supermarket and brought cereal, juices n bread for breakfast as our kids always woke up much ealier than the restaurants opened so it was easier to get them fed in the room. There are TV's and DVD players in both lounge and BRM and A/C in both areas individually controlled to what temp you want that worked perfectly.
The cleaner is a private one not part of hotel staff and she was helpful and even took our laundry away everyday and returned it with the slip and we just paid her. With a big family that was a godsend for me not having to bother with running to a laundry every few days.
We used a lovely driver from the front called 'Jacky' who fitted us all in and was a really nice guy.
There were many restaurants very close so that was a bonus too.
The whole residence complex is very quiet and you would not have a problem with noise. We DID have a terrible problem with noise because unfortunately for us they were replacing the entire roof so the hammerheads started at 7.30 every morning (7 days a week !!) but I think they said that it would be complete by May so you should be ok there.
My only complaint was the walk to the pool. Everyone said it wasnt too far but it was. After a long days activities or walking for miles shopping once we got back to the room under the A/C no one wanted to do the trek to the pool. We used it 4 times in 15 days!!
I would have prefered to have those lovely apartments with their own pool or rooms closer although that equates to more noise so you have to decide what your priorities are.
The pool area is huge and nicely maintained and easy access with a stoller if you use one. We just packed a big bag and made the trip to the pool and stayed for a few hours. But it is a real hike back to rooms if you forget something.
There was also very poor or non existant pool service, not once did I see anyone walking about offereing or serving drinks or food which is part of what makes a great hotel I feel.
I am in 2 minds as to my opinion of the Jayakarta because the apartments were so good but the rest of the hotel was sooo big and impersonal. With kids/ babies my need would be a good kitchen and closed off sleeping area for little ones nap times, and no noise, so you need to figure out for yourself what you would be happy with, do lots of reserch and reading on trip advisor on all hotels.
I am happy to be emailed for more info
cheers Deb
