I just bought a gong from across the road from geneva also but bought a much bigger one for approx $24 aus. Just remember that each gong sounds entirely different and so does that the thing (sorry, don't know what it's called) that you hit it with. The actual gong that you hit is interchangeable with the same size frame so take the time to get thet right sound that you like.
I also bought a much larger gong from another shop with a dragon that wraps around it and we had to play around with the sound of that one also. Goodluck ,Shelley.
