its not quite as busy as Kuta, but there are some lovely places to eat there and some good shopping places too. I have also found you dont get too much hassel on the beaches down that end. We have been taking our 4 year old daughter to Bali 2 times a year since she was 5 months and we have stayed in the MBR (cottage rooms) the Jayakarta and the Puri Raja all have been really good for babies. We now stay in the Beach Melati Apartments.
