I would sugest the Jayakarta with interconecting rooms Either the 300 block or the 400 block. Work out a lot cheaper than the Palace suite as you would also have to pay for an ajoining room.
The Jayakarta has always looked jaded from the day it opened in 1986 as the Kuta Palace but in reality it has been a great place to stay. They are slowly renovating the rooms and have spuced up the place in the last 6 months since the new manager has started .
For the daughter and the grandkids the grounds would be the best in bali and the 3 pools are always clean .
As for elsewhere a villa at seminak or Legien is an option but a little bit more expensive sorry I dont know any that I could recomend as I havent stayed in them.
