cannot be used here for calls,only in indonesia, but you can send text and possibly recieve calls,not sure on that bit.Yes optus is the "share carrier" here.
After the 6 months is up,and providing you top up the credit by whatever amount you wish to within the 30 days "active period" the unused credit is still there for you to use.
active period basically means you can recieve but not make calls or send txt messages anywhere inc indonesia if the credit time,not the money, has expired.
The sim card and number will continue for ever providing you keep it either in credit or the "active period", but once the active period has expired you have to buy a new one with a new number.
If your sim card is due to expire and you know someone going over providing you give them your number they can put credit on for you and if your phone is on at home i believe you will get a txt telling you of the new credit put on there,always make sure you have the credit put on electronically rather than by a card as i believe the expiry times are different for some reason.
